Hello there :) I haven't been too happy with Vox, so I decided to switch over to typepad. You can still find me at www.jennygarland.com (you'll get redirected to the new web address) but I will no longer be using Vox. Please update google reader or your bookmarks! Thanks :)
Quacky Toaster and I went to McDonald's tonight for dinner. For dessert, I ordered two vanilla cones. I don't know WHAT it is about Kate and saying crazy things when she sees ice cream (maybe it's because we only give it to her like twice a month except at Nana's), but when the McDonald's lady handed her the cone, Kate excitedly blurted out "Oh Sh*t!! Ice cream!!" Of course her pronunciation was very clear and there was a very long line behind us so many a small child and appalled parent overheard. Lovely.
My daughter has decided today that "Kate Mackenzie Garland" is no longer a suitable name. She would much prefer to go by "Quacky Toaster" so please make the necessary adjustments. If you try to call her Kate, she will say "Nope. I Quacky Toaster now."
This afternoon Kate and I went to get our Thimerosal-free flu vaccines at our family doctor's office. Kate has to get another dose in four weeks, poor thing! Anyway, I was talking to her all day about how we were going to head to the doctor after nap time to get a shot that would help keep us healthy. She asked, "Like a vitmin?" (vitamin) and I said "Yes! Exactly."
Brad's been out of town the last few days so the other night before bed time Kate and I took a trip to the mall to ride the carousel. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and Kate was really great and not at all antsy (I was surprised too). Since we weren't getting the evil eye from waiters or patrons, I told her we could share a dessert. Kate chose chocolate gelato since there was a big picture on the menu. When the waiter brought out the largest serving of ice cream I have ever seen, she blurted out a seriously enthusiastic "Heeeeey now!!" The waiter and I about died laughing. As soon as I heard Kate say it, I knew just where she got it from. Brad Garwhen (as she says)! Here's a picture of the praise worthy dessert:
